who can vote?

You must be 18 years old on or before the election day to be eligible to vote. In California, you can pre register to vote at 16 or 17 to be automatically registered when you turn 18. You must be a United States citizen, and if you want to register to vote in California, you must be a resident of California. You must also not currently be in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony. Follow this this link to find voting rights for persons with a criminal 

 history- https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/voting-california/who-can-vote-california/voting-rights-californians . You do not need to reregister to vote as long as you remain at the same address, but there are cases in which you need to update your registration to be able to vote in the next election. If you change your name or address you must re-register to vote, and it is recommended that you update your California driver's license with the DMV.
